Wild Wine Club

Most days we consider ourselves pretty lucky to live in Cornwall. Some days, however, it's just the most amazing spot in the world. Especially when good people come along and make good things happen. 
Cue... Debbie Warner. 
This lady, wine connoisseur and social media guru, has set up the Wild Wine Club, and we were lucky to attend the first edition of the event. 
The set-up was a Pinterest dream and I had to seriously work hard to put my phone down throughout the evening. 

For the first wild offering, she teamed up with chef friend from her days at Fifteen Cornwall, Adam Banks. With the help of Cornish chef Natasha Osbourne, Adam created a five-course feast around ingredients from the sea that she'd chosen to pair with each wine. Crab, Mussels and Mackerel.. a seafood lover's dream-come-true. 

The wines that provided inspiration for the food and the location were all from Chateau Civrac, located in the iconic maritime region of Bordeaux.

Chateau Civrac is a winery in Bordeaux where Cornishman Mark Hellyar spends a large portion of his year making a range of modern and innovative natural wines. Both Debbie and Mark made rounds to talk to us about the wines and food. 


We enjoyed the wines against a stunning backdrop of the sea, surf and rugged cliffs at Whipsiderry beach and we were treated to one jaw-dropping Cornish sunset.

As much as we would have liked to keep this a secret... it's too good not to share.
