Monthly Discovery Blog - April

Monthly Discovery Blog - April

For month three of the Discovery Blog Joe is taking over. Here are his top picks for April, including some new tunes we're vibing to in the shop! x

The Red Rocket, Fowey
New addition to Fowey’s waterfront is The Red Rocket. Newly open for this year and coinciding with the rejuvenation project of the old tidal sea pool - this cafe / bar was born from a dilapidated building. The addition of a veranda on stilts over the water has resulted in the area having a new breath of life.
Located in the heart of heart of Fowey, The Red Rocket serves everything for a day by the water. Coffee and cake available throughout the day (a great Cortado, I might add) with the stronger stuff available from 11:30 - a curated selection of local Wines and Beers.
Food is simple but great - locally sourced produce perfectly executed in a no nonsense fashion. Think crab sarnies and fresh salads rather than pasties and sausage rolls…

Golitha Falls - Bodmin

Located in the heart of Bodmin Moor - Golitha Falls is a hidden gem. By no means a new find, more of a family favourite I recently ventured up there for an afternoon out with the kids.
The falls (which are the start of the Fowey estuary) start as a gentle flowing stream but soon cascade, through the ancient woodland and over the granite boulders. Looking like a scene from the wilds of New Zealand or Canada, this place has a feeling of magic.

Follow the path for as long as you like, then head back to the car park to find Inkies - a Western style smokehouse serving up classic’s such as ribs, brisket, pork belly and burgers. Completely random for the setting, but 100% worth visit!

Playlist - Mexico Momento's

A new playlist is always something I’m excited to dive into. Whether it’s been curated by a friend, hero DJ or simply a collection of tunes that have been going through the mix.
A good friend of mine recently sent across an eclectic mix he’d made - think Mexican, Central American, African sounds; vibrant with good beats.
I’ve whittled it down to 10 or so tracks that I’ve been enjoying. Beer’s cold, sun’s out, feet up…
