As the last of the dark and dreary months of winter drag out in what feels like a blur of grey, we all eagerly look forward to the promise of spring and its boost of colour, light and warmth. Until then, it's a case of hunkering down and trying to stay positive, and that's where we come in! Here at Roo's Beach we live by our motto - 'Happy Clothes'. Yes we bring the sunshine all year round. So here's our favourite basics and fab accessories, perfect for layering and lifting your mood whilst keeping you warm during this transitional time.

This season, our new collections feature uplifting tones that really do reflect mother nature. These little pops of colour can be introduced into your winter wardrobe to lift your look as well as your mood. The Spring colour palette is full of lemon and mustard yellows from brands such as Hartford and L.F. Markey, peaches and baby pinks from  American Vintage,  Nümph and Indie & Cold. Pair all of the above with the gorgeous indigo blues of Levi's and Ivy Copenhagen and you've got a match made in heaven!

Roo - "I can't tell you how many people come into the shop and say that they can't wear colours such as yellow or orange. You can, you just need to find the right shade for you. We've got the lightest lemons and warming golds through to mustard yellows and dark rusty oranges. They're the perfect colours for now as they radiate light, sunshine and happiness. They cannot fail to lift your mood and make others smile."

Whether you're wanting to make a subtle or bold statement, our favourite brands can lend you a helping hand. From simply adding a  Becksöndergaard printed scarf to your outfit or layering with a colourful  Mads Nørgaard stripy long sleeved top, or maybe you really want to step out in a bright chunky knit (American Vintage springs to mind!) we have such an array of everyday basics, in all the colours of the rainbow.

Roo - "My advice for winter survival is to look to colour; be brave, experiment and add a pop of it here and there. Honestly, by wearing the colours of the season ahead will make you smile and spring will be here before you know it!"
